Clear Skies for Chiaroscuro

Late last night a flash of brilliant golden light erupted from the manor home of Lord Demise, a well-known and respected nobleman in the Adobe Heights district. Upon investigation, the manor was completely levelled as though the Sun itself had burned a hole in the earth. Moments after the golden lightshow, the dark clouds obscuring the sky over Chiaroscuro dispersed completely along with the baneful eye of Ligier, the Green Sun.
For the first time in a year the stars and moon were visible to the people of Chiaroscuro. On the streets the 3rd Legion and Delzahn warriors battled an army of demons, keeping them in check as best they could but it was a losing battle. Were it not for this golden light, which banished the army of Malfeas, the city would have been overrun by dawn.
There are rumours that something far greater, something far worse, than the demon army was attempting to emerge into our world but these cannot be confirmed. They've been brushed aside by the authorities as the mad rantings of old women.
In the wake of this terrificly good news came a bit of a shock however. As dawn's early light crested the horizon, smoke could be seen rising from several points to the north.
The Blessed Isle was burning.
Ledaal Kraketil Murdered!

This evening, it appears that Ledaal Kraketil was the latest victim in this string of dynastic murders. The Geneticist was seen shouting at walls then entering a building. A short time later the building exploded. Investigation of the blaze turned up a single badly burned corpse who’s physical description matches that of the Dynast. The cause of the blaze is still unknown and no one has claimed responsibility.
The End is Nigh

Word quickly spreads, threatening to turn into complete widespread panic, that tonight Creation is coming to an end. A respected and well-known astrologer, Meran Graiz, was chosen as an oracle of the coming doom by the gods themselves. Last night while she performed her vision that would inform the people of how to fight this coming doom, she was interrupted before she could learn any details beyond the name of Creation's end.
The Ebon Dragon.
It has been foretold the Ebon Dragon will step through his hellish gate into Creation, somewhere in Chiaroscuro and bring an endless army of demons with him to conquer all Creation. Sadly, the method of stopping the mighty demon was lost when a group of thugs conspired with Octavian himself to disrupt the oracular vision.
The 3rd Legion has managed to keep control of the panic-stricken people, but the city is a powder-keg waiting to go off. If this rumour holds any truth to it, there might not be another year after this Calibration.
Fire Errupts, Destroying Warehouse

Last night an explosive blaze erupted, engulfing one of the merchant warehouses at the docks. Eyewitnesses report an Immaculate Order monk, emerging from the fire, shouting about an anathema being present. Fortunately, the fire was quickly brought under control with the help of Magistrate and house Dynastic support from house Peleps.
An unusual means of support was provided by a Traveling Pagoda and crew, in addition to the city fire brigade. People were impressed by its’ presence and effectiveness. Bearing the Peleps insignia, it did gain some favor for the house in such dire times.
This incident has added to the unrest in the city. Anti-Realm groups pointed out, “This is just another example of how the people do not need the oppressive force of the Realm and the Order. This rampart destruction can be excused by claims of imaginary Anathema threats.”
